New updated schedule
i have just updated the new schedule for 2012. Please take a look. If you are in need of a revival pastor, event speaker, conference speaker, or retreat speaker, etc. Please contact me if the Lord leads you!
Concerts / Revivals Schedule filling up
The Lord has blessed very well. God has opened doors in many places for next year as well as 2013. I am excited for the journey we are about to take. As of today (November 18, 2011)…the only months open for scheduling a 212jam Revival or concert are February, May, and November. As I mentioned before, I try to limit ONE travel per month for my services. Please continue to pray for me, the family, and the minsitry, God bless!
Notes from Deaf Men’s Conference 2011
Me and about 18 other guys traveled to Glen Rose, Texas on November 3-6th. I look forward to this conference every year and it always empowers me and challenges me every year that I go. It challenges me to better myself as a man, as a father, as a husband, and as a servant of God. I urge each and every Deaf man to go next year if you are able to.
This year’s them was “REWIRED” from Romans 12:2 which had a lineup of four spectacular ministers. Chad Entinger (Iowa), Rick McClain (Alabama), Jeff Jackson (California), and Chip Penland (Tennessee). The worship leader this year was Josh Bonjour (Texas).
Below are the notes I took from the conference. It was mentioned that 5 people asked Jesus to be their personal Savior, and several rededicated themselves. One of the ones who rededicated themselves was my younger Deaf brother, Kevin. Praise the Lord!
Friday’s Notes by Chad Entinger:
Romans 12:2 says: Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
When we think of the word “TRANSFORMED“ we think of the illustration of a caterpillar into a butterfly.
There is a Greek word that I want to teach you tonight, it is called “metamorphoo” which basically means “change“
The most popular “changing” story in the Bible would be the transformation of Saul in Acts 9:1-22 (later called to be witness for Christ as Paul)
Later that evening, Chad presented a garbage can for us to write down our sins or struggles that are preventing us from “transforming” our minds and our lives. When we pray on those “sins or struggles”, we throw them away into the garbage can.
Saturday Morning’s Notes by Rick McClain:
Romans 12:2 says: Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
There are two thingks that Paul wants us to do: (1) Act a certain way (2) Live a certain life
How do we do those two things? (1) Offer your body as a living sacrifice (2) Be transformed by renewing of you minds
Problem with the renewing of our minds is tough as a man! Why? Becasue we have “ELEVATOR EYES”
When a beautiful woman comes by, we tend to scope her body up and down with our eyes. Don’t tell me you don’t do it. All men do it!
1 Corinthians 6:20 mentions for us to do “transforming’ NOW! “For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.”
The problem is… many of us go to church as hyprocrites. We cannot go to church and worship and then come out of church acting as a worldly person.
It all comes down to one simple challenge ” YOUR WORSHIP WITHIN THE CHURCH MUST MATCH YOUR LIFE OUTSIDE THE CHURCH”
Later, Rick challenged us with an illustration of a nicely decorated plate of breakfast food which represented our worship, holy and acceptable. And then moved on to throw the plate of food into a garbage can lid which was dirty and stinky, which represented our life, which is NOT holy and acceptable.
Saturday evening notes by Jeff Jackson:
Want us to look back to Genesis 3:9-10 where Adam failed to do 4 things:
- He failed to provide for Eve
- He failed to protect Eve
- He failed to teach Eve (provide wisdom)
- He failed to connect (provide love)
I have been part of the prison ministry for many years. I visit often to the prision in our state of California in our area. Many Deaf people are there and do not have many visitors.
I found out that 80% of the crimes that Deaf people did in that California prison, are sex-related (rape, sexual abuse, molestiation, sodomy)
I also found out that of that number, 98% of them grew up WITHOUT a father role model. They learned from wrong people, copied the wrong model, and got into trouble.
Later, Jeff challenged us to pray for ourselves to become better fathers and husbands. We took the Lord’s Supper together and many people came forward for prayer.
Sunday morning notes from Chip Penland:
“Boys to Men” was the theme of his message
There are three groups that I want to talk about: (1) BOYS (2) MEN (3) BANS
What is a BAN? A BAN is a “so-called” man who is stuck between boyhood and manhood.
Video gaming companies use statistics for ages who purchase their games, play, etc. The ages of 12-18 there is 45% of gamers. The ages of 20-35, there is 55% of gamers. Imagine that?
BANS are like modern men who are:
- less educated
- unemployed and trying to find a job
- fathering children OUTSIDE of marriage
- less religious
- video gamers, sports freak, sit w/ other men instead of with family, church, etc
BANS are like barbarians who are:
- worship sports more than God
- exercise addict. more focused on body than spirit
- dresses sloppy
- has a big EGO about himself
- does not respect women
- is always lazy, doesnt want to serve or help
- is not organized
BANS are like wimps who are:
- addicts to videogames
- loves to shop alone or with groups
- is more of a loner
- looks for pity and sympathy
BANS are in churches too, how?
- Churches have more women leaders than men
- Mothers and kids go to church, but the dad stays home
- leadership teams are led by women
Church cannot survive with wimps, barbarbians and BANS. We need more GODLY men!
We have too many men in the churches who are “extra-sensitive” they use excuses to miss church or to not serve. God did not make you to be easily offended by others. God wants you to take it like a MAN!
“MAN- UP!” is what we should do or tell each other! (In Texas, the phrase is “COWBOY-UP!”)
A REAL MAN needs to be RUNNERS:
- run from temptation and sin
- run AFTER God’s righteouness, godliness, faithfulness, and love, patience (Proverbs 15:9)
If we do not RUN…we will become FAT. Same as training…we train for a marathon…if we do not train for church, we will become FAT and lazy and wont do anything for God at all.
A REAL MAN needs to be a FIGHTER:
- fight and wrestle and struggle and suffer for Christ
- we need to grab opportunities for God to witness to others
A REAL MEN nneds to be a GUARDIAN:
- to KEEP guard of the Gospel and for each other.
- to watch over, even if noone is watching over you, you STILL watch over others.
Problem is…too many men use excuses..”well he never calls me,he never checks on me” Do you check on him? Do you call him?”
Is not about YOU…its about Jesus! Did Jesus use excuses like that? No, so you shut up and do what the Lord asks you to do!
How do we become a REAL MAN!
- Prayer (for your pastor, for your leaders, for those who are in need, and enemies too)
- Bible (read it, dont just have your reading time during the pastor’s preaching)
- Faithful Worship (get involved in a church and DO something for them)
- Mentor Other Men (Mentoring other men to be godly. Accept criticism and accept help. You are not always RIGHT!)
In closing, Chip challenged us to be a MAN when we go home. To be a real man and to do what God expects of us!
Guidelines to Hosting a 212jam Concert
Many of you ask what it takes to do a host a 212jam concert. What is the timeline? What is expected at a concert? How should we announce this? What necessities are needed for the performer? Hopefully I can answer some of these questions.
First of all…212jam is a concert ministry focused on ALL people, not just Deaf. Hearing people love music just as much as Deaf love to FEEL the music. With that in mind, be sure to invite ALL of the church…not just the Deaf people.
What is the timeline of a 212jam concert?
I usually recommend 2 hours. Do I use the full 2 hours? Not always. Have I before? Yes. It all depends on the Holy Spirit and the moving of God’s presence upon the people. I do typically 10 songs with stories / challenges / scriptures in between each song. If the concert is on a Friday, the preference would be around 7pm to give people time to get home from their jobs, eat dinner, and prepare for the drive to the concert. If its a Saturday or Sunday, any time is good but most that I have done has been in the evenings as well.
What is expected at a 212jam concert?
Well of course a concert is almost similiar to worship services but a little more emphasis on the heart’s focus on Jesus. The songs that are selected are mixed. Some contemporary songs such as Mercy Me, Casting Crowns, and Chris Tomlin. Some music from the Gaithers group is used as well. Depending on the seasonal, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter songs are done as well. I have seen people kneel down in prayer. I have seen hands up high, arms waving, and people experiencing brokenness. I have seen people praying with their heads in their hands crying. The goal is to bring people closer to Jesus throughout the concert’s message.
What is the best way to announce / publicize a 212jam concert?
Typically, if you say “Concert coming to our church” its not going to draw Deaf people. But if you say, “Concert in ASL performed by Deaf” That would be better wording for your announcements. Again, it depends on your community. If they are strong in using email, then email would do the job. If Facebook is strongly used, then use Facebook. Flyers are important too. Hand them out, lay them at Deaf events, send them by mail, print and copy some to hand out at church worship services.
What do I need when I do a 212jam Concert?
Basically you need to have the ability to project PowerPoint and DVD music. It would be helpful if your church was able to connect to the Internet as I use some videos from Youtube that I have made. (This is not a need but would be nice to have) Sound system would be nice to have too with the ability to add bass for the Deaf to feel the BOOOoooOOOming music. It would also be a need to have projection on the back wall so that I can view the lyrics if needed OR a TV monitor in front of me. The front monitor or back wall projection would be the same as whats projected on the front screen that the audience sees. Lastly, what would I need…alot of prayers and support as we all prepare for a big event like this.
What is the cost of hosting a 212jam Concert?
I have developed an information packet with costs, information, letter, etc. If you are interested in hosting one but have questions about costs, I would be happy to talk about it. Just email me at sdye212@gmail.com and I will be glad to send you the packet.
God has really been opening more doors lately. People are wanting to worship Jesus in the truest form possible. My question to you is: When will 212jam come to YOUR church? Praying for you all.

Revival Notes – part 3
I want to refresh your memory:
We are to
LOVE FULLY and accept that God will MEND our hearts & lives
- We are to love people NO MATTER if we have plms with them or not.
- We are to love people because really…it is a command, not a choice
- God could have chosen NOT to give up His only son, but God did
- John 13:35 says: By this all people, will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one
another” - If not love, you are not showing that you are a disciple…you are a hypocrite. Period!
Being blunt to each other out of love SHOULD always be accepted
We are to LEAD with a purpose to leave our MARK and influence people
- We are to lead people into know Jesus more
- But we cannot do that without looking at our own hearts
- We must fix our own lives before leading others
- Watch and learn from others
- Copy the attitudes and actions of the ones who follow Christ
- You cannot let anyone from outside change you
- You cannot let anyone from outside distract you
- Many of us are distract by Satan
- Make Jesus # 1 in your life now and Satan will lessen bother you
- You need to be DETERMINED to share and HONORyour MARK
Today…we will learn the final M3word……MOVE
When something moves, change happens….
When God calls on you to do something for Him, YOU BE READY TO MOVE!
Today..i want to go a little deeper since this is the last lesson of the M3 theme.
- When you leave this world….when you die…. What will people say about you?
- Will they say you DID things…or you waited for them to happen?
- Will they say you spoke bold…or was too shy to say anything?
- Will they say you made an impact on people….or that you was a nobody?
- Will they say you are leaving behind a great memory or leaving nothing?
- Will they say you are a person that MOVED or a person that did nothing?
I challenge you to think about this for a moment…. I want every person in this room to LEAVE BOLDLY….means to “Leave something after you have died to help others remember you better”
There are many people that have died in my life that I can say many great things about…
My grandfather was awesome..he helped put the first downpayment on my home…he helped me purchased my first car…he helped me get into college…he helped me to understand that FAMILY is important, but Jesus is 1st.
My grandfather would give the shirt off his back if it was his last one to any stranger that needed it more.
He would do anything to help anyone as long as he knew that person would be good for it.
There is a word that I want to share with you….it is called L E G A C Y. Legacy means something that has been passed down to you from the past. It also means..something that YOU will pass down to someone else in your future. For example…maybe you have something that belongs to your grandparents…jewelery or pictures or furniture or books or picture albums. But that is not what I want to focus on today
I want to focus on your SPIRITUAL LEGACY
There are 3 ways that you can make sure your SPIRITUAL LEGACY is in the right place:
- ATTITUDE must be like Jesus (Philippians 2:14-15)
Your ATTITUDE as a Christian will affect others in either a good way or bad way.
If you come in here with an attitude…
- ohh no one cares about me
- why don’t anyone talk to me anymore?
- Why am I here? This is boring
- Your attitude will influence others around you…..
- Do you want to be remembered as a complainer or a humble person?
- Do you want to be remembered as a person who did nothing to improve the situation or a person who did their best to improve it?
- Make Ripples wherever you go
2 Timothy 4:6-8 says:
6 “My life is given as an offering for God. The time has come for me to leave this life here. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race. I have served the Lord faithfully. 8 Now a prize is waiting for me – the crown that will show I am right with God. The Lord, the judge who judges rightly, will give it to me on that Day. Yes, he will give it to me and to everyone else who is eagerly looking forward to his coming.”
Interesting..it says….3 importantthings in those verses:
- SUBMIT—-my life is given as an offering for God
- SERVE——I have served the Lord faithfully
- INFLUENCE OTHERS—–Everyone else who is eagerly looking forward to his coming
It is a pattern…
We submit out lives to God…..we serve God…we influence others to submit and serve too.
I’m sorry to say this….we have submission problems….we have people who are serving people rather than serving God….we have people who are influencing others the wrong way.
How are you building your LEGACY if you are not submitting your plms to God…
- We have people still complaining about gas prices
- We have people still complaining about why people do not come talk to me
- We still have churches with attitudes that we are better than them
- We still have pastors and leaders with a spirit of competition
- We have parents that aren’t paying attention to their kids
- We have kids that are in trouble because the parents aren’t there for them
- We have all kinds of legacy problems…
Right now…there is a major thing happening in all of our churches…and if we don’t get our LEGACYs right and we don’t start MOVING right, our LEGACY will die.
Your ripples will not have much effect in the whole water body….or in other words…your influence will have little or no effect inside, in or outside the church.
3. Live with NO REGRETS
If you can live life with no regrets….you are truly living a LEGACY that someone will appreciate.
In Philippians 2: 2-3:
2 “Agree with each other and show your love for each other. Be united in your goals and in the way you think. 3 In whatever you do, do not let selfishness or pride be your guide. Be humble and honor others more than yourselves”
In other words…in order to leave a good Spiritual LEGACY… you need to do 5 things…
- Agree with each other
- Show love for each other
- Be united in your goals
- Be humble
- Think of others first
When I die..i want my funeral to be a place of people to look back and see that I was someone important to them because they saw Jesus in me…
If you aren’t leaving boldly…if you do not leave a memory that is a good one…if you do not change your attitude like Jesus….if you do not make ripples to influence others in a positive way….if you live with no regrets……then you will not be known as a person who shared HisMARK…and who MOVED people…
Jesus Christ is here to MEND hearts…to share the MARK…to teach you to honor His MARK….and to MOVE people with it.
May you be MOVED…and help MOVE others with your love and passion for Jesus Christ!
Revival Notes – part 2
There is a something that I read off a magazine which really inspires me.
Build wisely. It is the only life you will ever build.
Even if you live it for only one day more, that day deserves to be lived graciously and with dignity.
Your life today is the result of your attitudes and choices in the past.
Your life tomorrow will be the result of your attitudes and the choices you make today. – make today count.
Today we are going to be learning from the Word of God about how to LEAD WITH A PURPOSE OR BETTER YET…LEAVE A MARK
If you had one month to live….how would you change your life?
Would you “LEAD” differently? Or would you lead the same as always before?
Today’s M3 word from our theme is: MARK
I looked up the work MARK in the dictionary:
- A line, cut, stain, bruise that can be noticed
- A badge of visible sign
- A symbol using in writing
- A target or goal
- To be given ownership belonging to something or someone
As Christians…we are belong to Jesus Christ…
As people who are not Christians, we do not have a “MARK” yet
Some of us who are Christians, maybe have felt they have lost the MARK
Let me give you some words from Paul….
Philippians 3:14: “I press on towards the mark to win the prize for which God has called me in Jesus Christ”
Some of us are new and maybe haven’t learned what it means to have the MARK….. again Paul says…
In 1 Corinthians 11:1 it says:
“Follow my example, as I follow the example of Jesus”
Also in Philippians 3:17
“Brothers and sisters, join together in following my example. Also, learn by watching those who are living the way we showed you”
Interesting…Paul was emphasizing over and over…
….follow Jesus example….
You know there are 27 books in the NT….Paul wrote 14 books in the NT
Paul used the name of Jesus,….230 times
Think about it….how many times have you used the name of Jesus this past week?
How many times have you used the name of Jesus this past month?
How many times have you used the name of Jesus since yesterday?
A couple of years ago, I traveled to Florida to attend a Deaf Christian Conference. My whole purpose of going was to connect with new deaf pastors that share the same beliefs as me.
I met around 14 different deaf pastors, teachers, leaders from all over the nation.
We began to discuss about Jesus….baptism….salvation….our beliefs.
And I thought…wow..this is awesome. I can freely express myself with these people.
Why because that is a Christian group…..
Can I express the same with non-Christians? Of course I can..i am not ashamed of my beliefs.
Because someday, somehow, someway….those people that you talk to or hang out with will see a different in you and you will impact them to be more like Jesus
Paul says…”Follow my example just as I am following His”
- You cannot follow Jesus if you are involved in sex- joking
- You cannot follow Jesus if you are involved in gossip
- You cannot follow Jesus if you are looking or watching things on the PC or TV that you aren’t supposed to be looking at.
WHY?…I want to “LEAD” with a purpose…
LEAD how? By setting an example
Purpose, what? By showing them that Jesus is more impt than anything else and to prove to them that the world
If you put Jesus in the middle of your life and in the middle of your everyday living…..your influence will show, your life will show it.
If you continue to push Jesus aside and say…today is my time…we will meet later…. No….. Jesus expects you to do your job 24/7
- We need to treat Jesus like He is our COMMANDER..
- Who are we to not listen to our “Commander” ?
- When we are facing sin and doing wrong, the COMMANDER yells to us..”ABOUT FACE” and we turn from sin to face Him.
- What happens in the ARMY if a soldier does not listen to their commander?
- PUNISHMENT
How do we LEAD with a purpose
Paul wrote a small prayer to a church in Philippians:
I pray that:
- Your love will grow more and more
- That you will have knowledge and understanding with your
love - That you will see the difference between what is
important and what is not important - That you will choose what is important
- That you will be pure and without blame for the coming of
Jesus soon - That your life will be full of many good works that are
produced by Jesus Christ - To bring glory and praise to God
That you will see the difference between what is important and what is not important….
You have to learn to LEAD with a PURPOSE……to leave a good
mark on people…how?
- by talking to people about Jesus
- by telling people how much you enjoy
the deaf church - by telling people how much you enjoy
hearing God’s word - by telling people how much you enjoy
the fellowship - by telling people how much you miss
them and which they would join you - by telling people how much you have
changed since before you started church - by telling people that God loves them
Question….if we are told that we have one month to live….and we are to LEAD with a purpose…
God left His mark on many of us already….but those of you haven’t experienced that MARK yet… maybe its time that you do… there is a video that I want to show you,
- I challenge you today to take up the responsibilities and LEAD with a purpose….
- I challenge you today to look for someone in your life that is an example of Jesus and copy that example
- I challenge you to put God first in your life…not Deaf events, not family, not money, not job….God first
- I challenge you to LEAD the way that God expects us to….
- I challenge you to allow God to leave His mark on you
- Why? So that you can share that mark with others…
So may you share and HONOR your MARK with others….HOW? By leading with the RIGHT purpose!
Revival Notes – part 1
Sorry for the long delay….been taking care of many other things. Here is a summary of the 212jam Deaf Revival @ Knoxville, Tennesse which was at Dotson Memorial Baptist Church.
Friday Night:
There are days where I recieve VP calls from people that I don’t feel like answering. There are times where I am busy and people call and I have to drop what I do to answer.
There are days where the person on the other side of the VP is so insulting and so hurtful that in the back of my mind I am saying, “What a jerk!”
After hanging up, I realize for a moment…..is this how God feels when we are “jerks” too?
But you know what, even when we are “jerks” God still loves us. So if God loves “jerks” we must love “jerks” too.
John 13:35 mentions”By this all people will know you are My disciples, if you have love for one another”
Think about it…
- who is the person that you love the most? (parents, brothers, sisters, best friend, etc)
- Why do you love that person so much?
- How do you show your love to them?
- If they did wrong, would it be easy to overlook their wrongs?
- What about enemies? Do you love them too?
- Is it easy to overlook their wrongs and still love them?
- If not, then how are you loving them if you aren’t overlooking their wrongs?
PLAIN AND SIMPLE: If you are not forgiving them, you are not loving them.
If God can forgive us and love us, we should repeat that pattern!
For TODAY’s M3 theme…the first M word is = MEND
Those
definitions are good ones, why?
- To make something whole again = a person with a broken heart cannot fix the heart to be whole again. It requires something or someone to fix it
- To remove or correct errors
= there are some issues and problems that we cannot rely on ourselves to remove or fix errors in our lives - To set right; make better; improve = this requires us to do something first before we move forward
- To grow back together = an operation on the heart still has to heal, still has to be operated on possible in the future, but never can it grow back on its own without someone’s help
TONIGHT, I want to make it easy for you to remember how to have a MENDED HEART…
M ake peace
2 Corinthians 13:11 – Brothers, mend your ways. Encourage one another.
Live in harmony and peace and the God of love and peace will be with you.
E xpect hard times
1 Peter 5:10 – After you have suffered awhile, He himself will mend
what was broken before.
N ever doubt His work
Jeremiah 18:4 – The vessel that he made of clay was married in the hand
of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel as it seemed good to the
potter. Broken things can become blessed things if you let God do the mending.
There is not a life that He can’t recreate or mend back together.
D on’t ignore His promise
2 Corinthians 1:22 – This is because God sends His Holy Spirit to mend
the broken pieces of our life for He has anointed us, and sealed us and given
us His Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.
This past year, when I was preaching a sermon at a church. Instead of preaching a full sermon, I decided to have a PRAYER service afterwards to see PRAYER in action. I had gathered prayer requests from people in the community and surrounding us as well. One couple had requested a special prayer for them. The father, Chris, had shared that him and his wife were struggling with guilt over something for 7 years. The story goes like this:
Steve, please pray for us. Me and my wife have lived with guilt and fear for so long. Its been 7 years and its always hard to remove this. When we were both 18, we had celebrated a party for our graduation and my parents were out of town on business. We invited our friends who stuck with us through high school because we accidentially got pregnant and alot of our friends didnt want to hang out with “parents” who had a small child. That night, our son was 2 years old. We and our friends got drunk and high and we had a younger child watch our son and a couple others for the night in the basement. The next morning, my son had come up to tell me that he was hungry. I had directed him to the kitchen to grab something. After that, I had went back to sleep. A few hours later, I woke up and then realized that my son never came back in the room. I looked everywhere for him. In his room, in the kitchen, in the bathtub, no where was he found. Then I noticed the back patio door was open a little. I ran outside and found our son drowned and dead in the pool. We have lived with this guilt for 7 years. Please pray for us to have this removed from our hearts.
That was a heartbreaking story… but shortly after we prayed for them and kept in touch, that couple found a church in their hometown, joined the church, and have been experiencing God more and more. This past May, they gave birth to two beautiful twin daughters, Grace and Hope.
Mended hearts! Mended hearts require broken hearts. Broken hearts required a “MENDER”
and that “MENDER” is Jesus Christ. No one else can fix it for you, not your parents. Not your pastor. Not your best friend, noone except Jesus Christ.
May you give your broken heart to Jesus to be MENDED.
